What Is Whooping Cough?

Whooping cough or alternatively known as pertussis is a bacterial infection which impacts the lungs and breathing tubes. We advise getting your baby and children vaccinated. The infection can last up to 2 to 3 months or even more and can make your child very ill.

The name of the infection derives from the sound “whoop” which is the gasp for breath between coughs. Getting the vaccination is the best form of protection against it.
